2025 Gene Rantz Plein Air Paint Out
Painting outdoors creates new challenges as a painter. For one you need to look at the surrounding beauty that surrounds you. How do you narrow down such vistas? Well this year at the last Gene Rantz Plein Air Paint Out in Northport I decided to paint the cool old truck of Overlook Road in Northport. Everytime I passed that fruit stand I told myself I needed to try to paint that truck. So I did. And… my finished painting “Still Truckin’” earned an Honorary Award! How inspiring! Thank you Northport!
A great honor has come about to fuel my energy even more! The Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association (JAVMA) which has world distribution selected one of my oil paintings of a pet portrait to be on the August 2024 cover! You can read the article by clicking on this link.
Exciting news! Meakalia Previch-Liu from the Leelanau Enterprise wrote a wonderful article featuring Debra Howard and myself in the 2023 Color Tour magazine. It’s an honor to be selected among many fantastic artists in the area. You can read the article by clicking on this link.
